I have a 1980 Hunter 30.I would like to put in a least 2 if not 4 cowl vents for increased air circulation down below. Can anyone tell me where I should position them ? And what size they should be??Also who has the best price? I am a total novice at all this boat stuff. So any advice would be welcome.!?

Cowl vents?

Do you really want cowl vents? The Related Link is to a list of cowl vents at the Sailnet store. You can see that there is a myriad of options. But if you do not have existing dorade boxes then your options are two: build the boxes or buy the vents with the box built in. Marinco makes one of those. A better option, I think, is to add solar vents to the tops of your hatches. It is much easier to cut holes in the plexiglass than to cut through the deck and the headliner. As far as price I check here on HOW first. Then Sailnet and PYacht are next. If within ten percent I buy from HOW.

Not very helpful

Except for venting gasoline fumes in the aft, cowl vents are more cosmetic than practical.
