Hi, all. I'm currently in the process of rebedding the grab rails on my 1983 Oday 23, and I'd like to use something a little sturdier than the skimpy little washers I found inside the cabin headliner when I removed the bolts holding the grab rails to the cabintop. But that would mean enlarging the holes in the headliner to accommodate larger washers or a small backing plate, which would mean finding something to replace those little round plastic inserts that cover the existing holes.

Does anyone have any ideas for what I can use for this purpose? A guy at West Marine (who is quite knowledgeable about this sort of thing) was stumped but suggested perhaps making teak inserts. I'm not too fussy about matching colors, etc., but I want to make sure the holes are sufficiently covered and that they look presentable.

I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Bob

You can find all different sizes of plastic push-in plugs in the hardware drawers at home improvement stores. Especially Lowes.

Here's your solution for those plugs in the head liner. I replaced my grab rails last summer and when removing the plugs on my 1976, I cracked quite a few of them. Found these with a little research and they were a direct replacement. Initially they sent me black plugs but replaced them with white immediately, no extra charge and didn't ask for the others back.

Good luck,

Thanks

Lance and Greg, thanks for the suggestions. I did find some plugs at Lowe's this weekend that might work. And I checked out the site you suggested, Greg. Seems promising.
