Could a mast from a Tanzer 26 be modified to fit my Slipper 17?

The mast section on Tanzer 26 is fairly large for a boat its size. The T26 mast is a small telephone pole. I think it would be too heavy for your boat. It would certainly need larger diameter standing rigging and a different mast step. The mast would need to be shortened and the spreaders moved. The weight of the mast would raise the center of gravity on the boat.
Try looking for a mast from a similar sized boat, a Flying Scot, Lightning, for example. You might be able to get way with a mast from J22 or Capri 22 or similar boat.

Thanks for your time & advice. I'll look into one of the smaller boats you mentioned. Are you aware of any websites that may help? Seems hard to find this mast.

To help in your search it would be good to have the original mast dimensions.
Try the usual places for used masts, eBay, Craigslist, local bulletin boards. Keep an eye out for abandoned or nearly abandon boats in the back yards and fields. Local marinas may also have abandoned boats. Try google.
