Some places in Maine charge $1,000 to store my 27 ft. Hunter, but I've found good, safe marinas as cheap as $500.00 up here. Anybody know of some good inexpensive places like this in Virginia or maybe Maryland?

Rich, not sure what your are asking?

Year around storage in the water or on land? For a few months? When I had my H260 I kept it at a Virginia park for $30 a month. Gated and guarded, 15 minutes from my house. The H356 is costing $85 a month wether it is in the water or on stands. Jim S/V Java

Jim I'm looking for storage for the winter

on the hard. I would have to use their stands. I could cover and winterize it myself.

So you're gonna sail a 27' from Maine

to the Ches bay for winter storage, is that what you're saying? There are lots of options down here, but is it really worth that long of a sail?

Winter Storage

A number of the Maryland Marinas along the Chesapeake Bay's western shore would charge you somewhere between $75-$100 a month to store your boat on land. The eastern shore would probably be cheaper, but access might be harder, depending on where you are. My marina, for example (Herrington Harbour North in Deale, Md, about 20 miles south of Annapolis) would charge you about $85 a month for probably the best land storage you could find. By that I mean every boat has easy access to a nearby power and water stand (water all year round), the boat would be blocked properly and they would use about 6 real jackstands, and you could have the boat launched easily without other boats having to go in first (no jam parking). The lot also has security and lighting, too. If you don't mind being jam parked, blocked with odd pieces of wood and cinder blocks, and have no easy access to water or electricity, you could probably find less expensive places. All kind of depends on what you really want.
