corrosion issues

I'm finishing up my new mast and concerned about corrosion issues between the tabernacle bolt and the compression sleeve, I was thinking a monel sleeve between the aluminum compression sleeve and the SS bolt might head that off but I'm not sure. Sandwiching the monel between the stainless and the aluminum might stop the dissimular metal corrosion. Any thoughts folks?

Adding an additional metal is not going to help the dissimilar metal corrosion issues.
For corrosion to take place you need two metals physically connected to each other and an electrolyte also connecting them. Break any one of those three and no corrosion. Since the parts don't "work" in operation you could just coat the bolts with a waterproof varnish or goop to both separate the metals from each other and prevent salt water from connecting them.

well, it was worth a shot, thanks for the clue Bill, we did such things on aircraft landing gear door linkages and it seemed to do the trick. I was having visions of the tabernacle bolt being welded solid in a year or two.

A Delrin sleeve would do what you are thinking. Remember there is no corrosion without an electrolyte. So if you can coat the join to exclude salt water you are golden.
