Looking for advice on the best way to treat corrosion in the fittings attaching the main shrouds to the bar embedded in the fibreglass - see attached photo.

The only real approach is to remove, clean , inspect, and replace as needed. This is not an area you want to cut corners or find an easy way to just treat and forget. Also if you are getting water inside around the fitting you have a leak and need to fix that. I am not sure but I think you can remove the pin that is in the liner without cutting the glass. At the very least I would remove the fittings and clean and inspect the pin.
