corroded halyard sheaves at masthead

Hi Bryan

The mast is easy to remove. It is held down on the deck just by the pull of
the rigging. It stands on a small lip only. You need to undo the electrics
inside and that is it. I have manage to remove the mast with a couple of
ladders and four people. If you have an A frame or tabernacle it can then
be lowered single-handed.

The combi is a very simple piece of engineering but seems to frighten most
owners. When I first bought my Vega I was terrified until I took it apart -
a piece of cake... We can supply a complete renovating kit for the combi
at £38 (Now in stock and ready to go). At the worst case you may have to
change the control tube as well (£100). The Combi kit comes complete with
full instructions and diagrams. Dont worry, it i snot rockt science.

hello. My name is bryan and I am the new owner of
"lagome",hull#3207, formerly named Toucan. I am
hoping someone can help me with info. on replacing the
sheaves/rollers at the masthead. Questions:
*Is it easier to pull the mast? And if so how is
the mast step secured to the deck? Lag bolts
*What do I need to do inside the cabin other than
disconnect the electrical?
*Where can I purchase the sheaves? (I live in the
SF Bay Area.

Also, Mr. Combi reversing mech. wont go into gear. I
am
told it worked fine 8 years ago when the boat was last
used. A suggestions, help, manuals, old newsletters
will be very much appreciated. Thankx, bryan__________________________________________________
