correct taper

Hi Kevin I have a 2000 Legend 340 with a yanmar 3GM30 the boat is in UK although she was built in the states. I am hoping to change my two blade prop to a fixed 3 blade prop, can you confirm the following for me that the American shaft taper is 16 to 1 on a 1 inch shaft.British is 12 to 1 and metric is 10 to 1 on 25 mm I believe

Hello Trevor,The SAE taper, as it is called in the US, is a 1:16 taper. If your machine shop or propeller shop does not have the dimensions we could fax a sheet to you outlining the needed measurements. Take care. Kevin

correct taper - prop size

Hi PeteI am changing to a 16 x 12 3 blade prop, at present I have a 16 x 13 two blade.Not sure of make I will be getting it from a firm in Poole in UK, cost £190, I bet it would be cheaper for you in the US ! Trevor
