I have a 1983 Cat 30 TR that has a Universal 5411 (11hp) diesel. I'd love to repower, but the engine seems to be running fine. The problem is that when pushing into the wind or waves, I loose most of my speed. In flat water I cat top out near 6 knots, no complaints there. When into the wind or waves, speedd drops considerably. I was told that I should consider switching to a 3 blade prop. I now have the stock 2 blade. Does anyone know what size she came with? Also recomendations for a 3 blade would be appriciated. One last thing, how much of a speed hit will I take under sail?
