Copper Line freezing

I have the Cold Machine installed. It has the evaporator installed in the freezer section with a spill over fan to the refrigeration side. I have the freezer temperature range from 15-20 degrees. Shuts off at 14 and restarts at 20. A problem that just started is that the copper tubing coming out of the box going to the compressor is freezing ice just above where the insulation ends. This is about 2 feet out of the box. The freezer will get down to 16 or 17 degrees and stay there causing the compressor to not shut off. Normally it will cycle on for about 25 minutes then off for about 45 minutes. I haven't defrosted for about 8 months but there isn't an enormous amount of ice on the evaporator. Any ideas? Jeff

Typically...

this could mean that your system in low on refrigerant, have checked for leaks and recharge (Quick couplers are typically the weak link)or your thermostat is now shot or the insulation on your refrigeration line is wearing out. (Two first ones are the most likely) Defrosting the freezer plate would help for sure as on a cold plate system as excess frost will decrease system efficiency. Hope this help. Ghislain
