Cooling System Zinc

I have a Yanmar diesel 2GM20 with a fresh water cooling system. I am told Yanmar does not place a zinc in this system. Does anyone have a zinc in their fresh water cooling line? If so, how is it installed?

This is the reply a friend received yesterday from Torrenson Marine in response to the same question:

Your engine does not have a zinc.


Why does the Yanmar 2GM20F not have a zinc to protect the engine?
There are no conflicting metals within the fresh water circuit of the 2GM20F.

I have a pearson with the same engine and was looking for a zinc-- could no find one. Thanks for the info
