cooler drain for 78 Catalina 30

Where does the cooler drain lead to and how can I access the hoses to check for potential blockage. My cooler is holding water.

My cooler drains through a hose that runs under the quarterberth, alongside the stuffing box and into the bildge under the engine.

Drain on 1989

My drian runs under the draws between the icebox and the quarterberth. If you pull out the bottom drawer you can easily get to it...or for lots of room.... take out the six screws that hold the drawers in and pull out the whole drawer assembly. I insulated my ice box last weekend by way of pulling the set of drawers out.

If the hose isn't set up with an anti siphon loop you will lose cold air out the drain hose. When I added insulation to my box I plugged up my hose and we periodically sponge the collected moisture out of the bottom of the box. This hopefully will lessen the chance of the insulation getting saturated with water which severely compromises its insulating ability.
