love a cold one

I used the horizonal unit ( the smaller one) and put the compressor in the starboard sette. ran the tubes into the box from there. Must make a "shelf" for the unit to sit on since the space under the seat is curved. I would be willing to take pics if you want. email me at wavy10gm@yahoo.com. ed

Compressor locations

Ed - I have an H-320 I keep at Smith Mountain Lake, Va, and am planning on installing A-B refrigeration on her next month. Any tips, photos, etc. that you can share would be greatly appreciated. Also, did you consider locating the compressor part in a cockpit locker instead of down below? I thought that would get the heat out of the boat instead of under a settee. No one seems to do that so there must be other issues I am not aware of. Also, in locating the evaporator portion, should it be up high within the box - like under the top surface - or does it not matter? Thanks . . . Steve Baltes Stephen J. I've got one

I had a Barbour unit factory installed in my 310. The compressor is under the sink in the cabin. Works fine, needs extra vent in the side of the sink base and at night I leave the cabinet door open... Caution... Refrigeration really eats up the battery amps and one hot night can completely drain a good, fully charged deep cycle battery. So if doing it again, I would dedicate an additional house battery just to refrigeration.
