I like to keep my boat squeaky clean. I even scrub was under the floorboard/cabin sole.

Yup, I'm one of those freaks.

Noticed some coolant (not much) had leaked from the overflow hose on the Volvo.
Of course I had to wipe that up and was wondering if that is normal.

I'm certainly not an expert, but I wouldn't think any leakage of coolant, of all things, is normal. I'd keep a close eye on it. If you're that tidy, that should not be hard. Good luck!

It could be something as simple as the recovery bottle, the hose or even your cap.

Start looking simple & cheap. The hose/bottle may expand when it is warm and you get the leak then.

Ducati,

What Volvo model? I have a MD22L-B that has had some coolant leaks near the front stbd corner of the engine. If you have the same engine, we can compare notes.

See pix.

Any leak is not normal. It can be acceptable but not normal. Maybe the hose is starting to age. Always good to keep engine bone dry on outside so that any first sign of problem can be detected, like the small leak you have there.
Remember the adage, "its a small leak that sinks a big ship".
