Coolant Hose

Had a coolant leak on my 361 and found the hose that connects the reservior to the evaporator had a crack at the clamp on the evaporaor nipple. I took off the hose, cut 1/4 of an inch off and went to re-attach it. It split instantly. Auto parts store had a similar hose that stated it was "not for pressure or high temperature use". I bought a black rubber 5/16" reservior hose and attached that. Topped off the reservior with anti-freeze/distilled water mix and ran for 15 to 20 minutes with no problem. Any one else run into this? Any concerns with the alternate hose selection?

Yep had the same problem with our last boat a 361 and also on our current 43. I did the same thing you did and used an off the shelf hose from Lowes. I went with a clear hose and all was well.
