I have a Catalina 30 1984 with Universal M25XP
I changed my exhaust pipe and i see the coolant drops out of where connects the exhaust pipe. There is little coolant in the tank.
what is the problem in your opinion.

Sorry for my English

Thanks

It's not clear from your post where the coolant is dripping from. If it is from where the exhaust riser meets the back of the engine at the manifold, then it could be that the green gasket was damaged when you installed it. The bottom "loop" for the stud on the bottom is usually the culprit. I had to buy a second gasket and start over, VERY carefully, to eliminate that drip.

If the drip is somewhere else, please let us know.

There is a gasket between the exhaust flange and the manifold. A couple of potential issues:

1. You disturbed the existing gasket and seal when repairing the riser

2. You didn't use a gasket sealer such as Permatex when you installed the new gasket

3. The studs aren't sufficiently tightened or the flange isn't seated properly

4. The mating surfaces on the exhaust flange and manifold must be perfectly smooth. Maybe there are still remnants of the old gasket or nicks/scratches.

Recommend draining the manifold. Remove flange/riser. Make sure surfaces are clean and smooth. Install a new gasket and use a gasket sealer such as Permatex Form-A-Gasket #3. Tighten nuts on flange.

Sorry I think, l explained badly myself.

Coolant is mixed with sea water and out through the exhaust pipe behind the boat.

In this case I would take look at the heat exchanger. Pull off the end cap. Look for internal failure of tubes. Likely place for coolant and raw water to mix. May need to pull the exchanger and have it pressure tested. Found that having people test or clean the exchanger is nearly half the cost of a new one and hard to find. Many people upgrade the exchanger on the M25 so might be something to consider.
