Gordon, I read your reply regarding the proper coolants that Yanmar recommends. I have a Volvo Penta diesel, however, and would like to know if the same should apply to these engines as well. Thanks.
From the manufacturer's information and testing at Yanmar, the new "extended life" coolants are superior. They are compatible with all the materials used to build an engine. I do not have direct confirmation from Volvo but I know that I would use it in any engine.
