Cooker problems

We have a 260 that is about 12 months young. The Kenyon cooker is bieng a real pain. A while ago you could turn up the gas flat out and you would get only a very small flame. In fact it would go out if you did not hold the adjusting knob hard full on. I took the stove apart and readjusted the controll. THe result was good but the bloody thing kept alight even when it was turned off. So I took it apart again and put it back the way it was and lo and behold it would work just fine from off to low flame to flat out. The problem now is that it has gone back to its old habit. Was wondering if any one else has a clue on how to fix this?

Mine had a bad regulator

Mark, this last summer I was also having problems with the Kenyon. Sent it back to the factory and they swapped out the regulator and sent it back. Up to the point of trading in the boat, it worked fine. Now just what was the part I don't know. You should still be in the warranty period so check with Kenyon in your area. How's the weather? Starting to get warm are ye! Jim S/V Java

I Sure Was Happy With Our Origo

..in our V32. It was the non-pressurized model. Might be a good swap. Sell the old one on e-bay on here. Rick D.

Thanks John/ I have worked it out.

I was a little suspiciouse that if you leave the gas cylinder in the stove the foam rubber circle in the base of the lock on cap might compress so as not to allow the cylinder to push down hard enough on the nozzle end to release enough gas. So I left the bottle out for a week which allowed the foam to regain its original thickness. Put a bottle in last night and sure as eggs she worked perfectly. So for all of you with these stoves take that gas bottle out after each use. Good safety idea as well. Thanks John for your very kind offer!
