Converting into a queen sleeper

I have a 1980 O'day 25 that I am enjoying this summer. My latest question is about turning the cabin into a queen sized sleeping area. Was this an option that my boat doesn't have? Maybe that extra bunk wood and cushions have been lost over the years. Is there a kit that I could buy that would replace the original if O'day ever had one?  Many Thanks, Jack

Later option

I believe this was an option that was added later, in about '82. I've seen pictures of models that have a slide out extension that converts the to setee's to a queen. I have a '76 that does not have this option, but I'm working on a modified version. I'm going to make an extension that sits between the two setees, and then becomes a table that can be used in the cabin, or in the cockpit. I don't care for the drop down table at all.

queen size conversion

FWIW, check out the Boat Info Center on this site and go to the "25" info. There is a photo section contributed by one of our members showing how he converted his 25 to a queen size. I'm seriously considering this option after last Friday night. Can't tell if I'm stiff from hauling on lines or sleeping in the wrong position. Similar to my plan

That's very similar to what I plan on doing, except instead of using utility boxes and the backs of the settee's, I'm going to use a rail system on the sides of the settee's, a custom built extension that will also serve as a table, and the back cushions. I'll post pictures when I get it all done, probably late this summer or early fall.
