Beneteau 305 New Haven
I am considering making an offer for a 1988 Beneteau First 305.

I would like to ask your advice on the following.

The forestay is set up to be used with hang-on forestays. There are three different jibs. We are more interested in sailing one-handed with a furling genoa. We are considering converting the forestay to a furling system, however we would like to utilize the different sails the boat comes with. Is there any way that we can have both systems in place? Or would you recommend something else?

Many thanks!

I added furling to a Newport 30 and had the sails resewn for the furler - a 110 and a 150. Kind of a pain to swap sails by yourself - especially trying to fold. Kept the 110 on and flew an assymetrical downwind most of the time.

I currently sail a 343 with a 140 on a furler - seldom use the whole sail up wind. Pole it out downwind. Haven't had the genneker up singlehanded since knee replacement.

I like the furlers on both sails since I can easily dial in how much sail I want.
