2. AOS Engine Gateway Single Engine Gateway – NMEA2000 Much cheaper than the Actisense solution (unclear how it's programmed, I asked for the manual but they wouldn't send it)

There's a link to that manual on their site: https://acrossoceansystems.com/wp-content/uploads/Engine-Gateway-Installation-Manual.pdf
Nice, it wasn't there 6 months ago when I reached out to them, and they didn't provide it. After reviewing the manual and given the other commercial options, I'd definitely get the AOS gateway if I was buying a commercial products ... super easy to setup and a good manual to boot.

I did get all my sensors to display. I use an ESP32 to sense the analog data, send it to SignalK which then forwards it to NMEA2000.

Cost out the door was under USD 40. I then was able to move my tach and temp gauge off the prime space on the dash and moved them lower on the pedestal. Still available and visible, but away from the main dash. The engine values are visible on the N2K instruments, chart plotter, Signalk Dashboard (Kip), Node-Red, etc...

Here's the Kip Dashboard (with the engine OFF). When the engine is running, the gauges have green/red/yellow ranges. Node-Red will send NMEA2000 alerts if anything nears or exceeds a limit.

The nice thing with this system is you don't have to watch the gauges. If someone else is at the helm and doesn't check them every 20-30 minutes, should anything goes wrong or trend wrong, an alert will be heard throughout the boat. This is the power of the VIctron Cerbo GX, it does so much more than monitor voltages and control the inverter...
