Now that I have a brand new outboard I'm trying to figure out what to do with my cantankerous old Renault diesel. I figure I have three options and I wanted to throw them out there to see what the general consensus is:
1) Leave it as an emergency engine and drag the extra weight and giant three blade "dumbo" prop around?
2) Leave it as an emergency engine but try and find an inexpensive used two blade sailboat prop that is close enough in size and pitch to work if needed?
3) Take it out and remove the prop, use the extra space creatively?
Any thoughts?
BTW - an update to a previous post about the transom flexing: I spent quite some time glassing in some oak in the transom last weekend and it has made a big difference.
Thanks,
Manny
