Ever do anything stupid?

well, actually maybe not stupid. Just tastless. I've deleted the last post I did because it doesn't portray a very nice image of me. Yes I am embarrased about being a horses' arse. Mykcoon, my appologies to you for my pretentious comments. I tend to look at this thread of yours as a sporting event. Not that I wagered any money on the turnout ... well maybe not alot. I'm just a sore loser. Just kidding. (about the wager) You Yours. I appologize to you too. The attempt to define your character as a pessimistic bore was totally crude. I was out of bounds on that one. While it is true that you appear to tick-off some folks with your reports, I find truth in all that you bring this forum. It certainly isn't easy to do what you do and I admire that. Keep up the good work as there are those who look forward to what you have to say ... no matter whether it ticks them off or not. They just won't admit it. I admit that you ticked me off enough to post a reply (and thus slur your handle). I did it without giving things proper thought. Well gentlemen, it's a wide world (of sports) out there. Let's enjoy the day and may the winds fill your sails CP

Why go "traditional"???

If you want the best of trailerability (light and low), ability to anchor in a foot of water but in a dedicated sailboat - the older Mac classics and water ballasted Catainas are options. A Mac classic with a few upgrades (you can usually find them used with many upgrades already done) is inexpensive and sails well. We love blasting past the "traditional" boats on any point of sail. The Catalina's are better equipped and much nicer in general - but the price reflects it. Both of these maximize trailerability in a "pure sailboat" form. I noticed your mention of "extreme heel"? This is totally in error. Virtually all sailboats are capable of "extreem heel" - just carry too much sail for the conditions. With a a Mac (for example) you just need to reef earlier to easily keep her at that optimum 20 degree heel. I don't fine Teliki tender - she is just a sailboat with her own charistics - and she needs to be sailed accordingly. Chris

I never took offense.

We sailors are an emotional bunch wghen it comes to our boats. I wanted candid comments about the direction I was thinking of going with moving up and I got a lot of good points from all of you guys. That's why I wrote to the forum instead of contacting a Mac sales rep.
