connecting Yamaha 9.9 to battery

I wish to connect the motor to the battery but got mixed up in the wiring

Our previous motor had one earth to body and two wires to battery(red&black)

Present motor-Yamaha 9.9 4stroke 2008 model has 3 wires coming out of rectifier; red, green and green with white. The motor is manual start and I want to use it to charge the battery.

I am presuming that one of the green ones is to earth but which one? I don't want to experiment and possibly cause damage.

Anyone has a similar motor connected to battery?

Wiring diagrams for your specific motor appear after section 9.2. I have a 2004 t9.9 but the wiring is slightly different depending on model and options.

Thanks for the link. That's very useful because the owner's manual does not contain this information.
