Lake Murray - now that brings back memories! I belonged to the Univ. of So. Carolina sailing club in the late '70s.
In '78 or '79 the sailing club was going to charter some bareboats in the Bahamas - I flew back to Columbia, SC early from winter break to go on the cruise - well, the VP of the club, who was supposed to have arranged the charter, absconded with our money! So no cruise. He bought a car with the sailing club's money, was later arrested and I think did some time for the theft.
He had made up the details of the boats he had supposedly chartered and everything - very convincing. One of the worst days of my life when we all realized we'd been had and weren't going on our cruise.
