Hi Guys,

Our Volvo MD2B had not been turned over in 10 months. We finally started getting her ready to go for haul out and set her up with a Jerry can of fresh fuel and bled the system. The oil looked clean and normal.

We got her started finally and she ran as beautiful as ever. Ran for about half an hour and then shut down. Check oil and found the milky emulsified mixture.

Pumped out 4.5 quarts of liquid from a simp that is only supposed to hav 3.25 quarts. Is it realty possible to have THATMUCH condensation in ten months??

Thanks,
SailMaster

Before running,it was "clean and normal".
After running, it was "milky emulsified".

If you had a quart of water in the bottom, it would have indicated a higher level originally.
Doesn't sound like condensation but I hope I'm wrong.

Well we will find out tomorrow. I pumped out the old stuff, cleaned out the filter. Then I poured in fresh oil and ran her for half an hour. No water seen. Will recheck tomorrow.

Too much for condensation IMO.

Since the engine is probably raw water cooled the water pump is a place to start.
