concrete in the bilge??

I have discoverd concrete poured under the floor boards of my hunter 22 , I purchased this boat used, does anyone know why this is there , this completly removes access to the swing keel. any ides??

Probably for additional ballast

Maybe to P.O. used it to make the boat stiffer.

Leave it

As long as the boat seems OK I would leave it. I would keep my eye on it though, as concrete does absorb moisture.Concrete has been used before as ballast. I know of a Caliber 35 that has some concrete the factory put in for extra ballast.

centerboard access

I don't know anything about Hunter boats but the access to the centerboard in my ODay 23 is from under the boat.
