I have stayed at Key Lime 4 times, absolutely loved it. Great time. Yeah, if you want five star go somewhere else. But it is comfortable, the boats do get maintained. Outboards occasionally have a problem but they have a mechanic on site as well as a hell of a tool shed and sewing machine. If something breaks it gets fixed, what more could you ask? Nice evening sunsets at the tiki hut on the water, fresh coconuts, Gin & Tonic, what else could you want? You can't rent a freakin boat for the price of the cottages.
Great places to eat close buy, not the touristy crap you get in Islamorada or the Keys. West Marine down the street. Make sure they give you a shade tarp, as it can get sunny. Easy to put up an 8 x 10 on a Catalina 22. Swing keel is my favorite. Sail to places to eat as well. FANTASTIC Vacations there always. If I didn't own a Hunter 35.5 in San Carlos in the Baja, I would be in Key Largo. MM 99.....
Hope this link works, if not, send me a message and I will send you the link to some great Key Lime pics on Picasa from one of our trips.
