I compromised my ego!

With a Catalina Capri 22 tall rig your compromise is living space and sharing a bunk with your spouse. At least if one (or both) of you is claustrophobic or less than limber enough to turn around in the v-berth.
On the other hand, it's way faster than my Dad's old Bristol Corsair 24 with the full keel was.

Ditto, except I have hull #24.
The compromise I make everyday is going to work instead of getting aboard and "running" away.
Without turning this into a political thread drift, I'll see if I make it here through the upcoming year or determine that I'm done compromising on a daily basis
and do what I know I should!

Size!
Size, especially beam, with a beam of 7'10" the Macgregor is a skinny boat. If not for the ease and cost of maintenance, storage and trailerability I would choose something longer and wider. Of course that would cost me a lot more so I have to compromise. On the up side, the seasons here in the PNW dictate a seasonal trailerable boat which the Mac is.
Why they didn't go 8'6" of beam which is legal in the majority of locales totally escapes me. It may only be another 8" but one would be amazed at the difference this would make below decks. overall it fits the venue here extremely well but I really would like a bit more room.
