My Hunter came equipted with a compressed natural gas system. I am finding it difficult to get thet tank refilled because of where i live and there are a limited number of filling sites. If anyone has converted to a propane system and has the cng bottle i would be interested in purchasing it.

John: What part of the country do you live in? Many municipalities and airports have CNG stations for their equipment. We are working on making some refilling fittings for the bottles over the next couple of months. If/when we get this done, we will have a bill of materials and places to procure the parts.

PS: Obviously you will still need another tank.

I would go talk to the guys at the propane filling station and ask how to convert and you can get tanks at same place or RV store.

John:

If you think you want to convert to propane, contact Sure Marine in Washington State. They should be able to give you a materials/cost list for what it would take. On the other hand, if you can refill your own bottles with CNG it is really cheap.

John, friend converted his 35.5 to propane and gave me his tank so now I have a spare. In our area the local natural gas company refills but it takes some sort of special regulator. Guy at local marina does an exchange program where you take in an old bottle and he replaces it. One snag to refilling them yourself is the bottles are supposed to be pressure tested every 5 years and that is apparently expensive. We don't cook much on the boat and I'm using a bottle that was filled 3 years ago and still about 1/3 full, plus now I've got a full spare bottle so I figure I'm good for another 3 or 4 years. This'll probably be a good place to find someone with a spare.

LOL My wife worked for a propane company and refuses to have propane on our boat after the safety officer at her company blew himself up on his boat.
I like cng so i am still looking for a spare tank. THe filling regulator came with the boat. Thanks John

I too have a spare CNG tank. It too is full. We have a CNG supplier about 10 miles away. I would sure like to see a picture of the fill regulator that you are talking about. Could you post a picture of it?
Thanks
