I am considering installing a composting head in our 1990 C30. It will be used on the weekends. I am looking for issues or problems installing it. Any installed pictures would be helpful.

I have a friend who has one on his boat and swears by it. The only problem is women have trouble urinating into it but not a real big problem just one of getting used to it. Poo turns into easily disposed of pellets/balls. No smell and it works on peat moss.

While there has been limited discussion of these things on this forum, www.cruisersforum.com has had tons of them.

Personally I think they are the devil's spawn, but to each their own.

Check out the discussions there, they have gone into great detail on them.

I have to agree with Stu.

I realize getting rid of waste especially in fresh water with limited pump out facilities can be daunting.

Also, what works for one, may not work for another but, I personally, have no desire to leave my boat while composting is happening. Give me a good waste tank anytime. It's not my wish to lug sh*t pellets all the time either. My boat trash only contains cans, plastic & paper, not poop.

In addition, the pellets are not really trash material, but waste.
