Well, I finally decided to purchase a new "comp prop" for my 26-X equipped with a honda 50. My question is twofold. 1) does anyone have any experience with the "comp prop" ??? good, or bad ??? 2) I have purchased a prop that is 10.5 X 11....Is this a good pitch for the Honda/ Mac 26-X combination ???? Thanks in advance for any help in this matter....

What did you have before? what kind of results did you get? Why did you choose a composite prop? What kind of performance are you looking for?

re: Info.

Hi Timm, Just purchased the boat in late October. Had it in the bay twice before winter set in. Don't know the pitch or diameter of the current prop, but it was noisy, labored, vibrated, and gave me 17 mph with 4 adults and no gear. ( WOT around 5500 - 6000 ) Checked the prop 2 weeks ago, and found the leading edge of one blade bent and cracked. I am looking for performance similar to what I had in the original prop. I am under the impression that the 4 bladed prop will give me more efficient mid range operation, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the composite's. It does appear to have a rougher finish compared to stainless, or aluminum, and I guess that has an impact on drag.... Any suggestions ? Thanks, Joe...

Prop size

I have a 3 blade 10.75 X 13 on my Honda 50 with a 26M. 10.75 diameter & 13 pitch. It seems to work fine but I do not have a speed-o or GPS to check my speed but she really seems to get right up on a plane. My W.O.T. is 5950 with an empty ballast and 5650 witha full ballast so I am within the range. I do have to wonder though should I be using a wider diameter and smaller pitch due to the weight of the boat say 11 X 12 or 11.5 X 11.5?? Does anyone else have anything to say regarding prop size?
