our 82 catalina 22 has a "nautical miles speedometer" on the starboard side of the cockpit. It was obviously inoperative for years and the thru hull corresponding sensor in the hull was removed. I have seen several compasses in this space in and around our yacht club. Can you tell me how to obtain and how do we compenstate for the front to back tilt of the cockpit wall? Thanks!!

Hi, There are a few brands of compass that can be used on this slanted surface. Catalina Direct sells their factory replacement. There are a few brands that are commonly used however. You may even want to shop here at Catalinaowners.com for an item called their Ritchie Navagator Bulkhead Mount Compass. it has a nice Black compass with red 4 1/2 inch Ritchie CombiDial and Built in Clinometer. The Danforth Saturn or the Plastimo mini contest are probably great choices and somewhat similar in features. ~Bilbo N.E. Ohio
