Worked for me
Had the same dilemma and knew I would be raising and lowering the mast often. I got a teflon cutting board, electric compass, inclinometer, and bungee cord put together. Installs and uninstalls easily. Pretty inexpensive but very functional. I'll email more pictures if interested.
