i have a hunter 27 1980 looking for compass that fits the helm pedestal and if anyone has knowledge to tighten the throttle so i dont have to hold it for more speed

The throttle cable should have a cable clamp on it that can be tightened a little to increase the friction by the sheath on the cable itself.
Lots of boats have this clamp on the throttle cable .. The regular cable clamp will work as well.. Not sure what size you need, but measure and see. Many pedestals also have a nylon friction screw under the compass that can be tightened to add friction.

As far as a compass Is concerned, this is what I purchased for my H30 a while back. I’m quite certain one of the Richie compass models will suit your purpose. This was a simple drop in replacement for me and all that was needed was to hook up the wires for night lighting.

Do you not have a pedestal compass or is yours in bad shape? There are some great places to get one refurbished. Then you know it fits. I used Young's Maritime Service. Just a thought.
