I can't speak for the Richie, but be aware you should be looking for a compass that will work well with the inclined cockpit bulkhead on your Catalina. If you pick the wrong model you may have trouble getting it calibrated correctly.
I replaced mine with the 4.5" model sold by Catalina Direct. It turned out to be a Suunto B-166 Sail and I like it a lot.
