I have recently dissassembled my compass and polished out the yellowing on the dome and plastic plate over the compass card. Does anyone have any idea what type of oil is used in a compass. I searched the archives and tried Mineral oil even though a post said it was too thick, But there were no other suggestions. Any other ideas before sending it in to be refurbished or replaced.
