companionway slat holders

just put up a page on my site about the slat holders I engineerd and installed on my boat recently; http://sailingit.com/blog/archives/70 thought it might give someone else some good ideas they would want to use on their boat...

Nice work, looks good. On my boat there is a storage bin built into the stbd cockpit locker that holds these boards

On my boat I fastened them all together and mounted hinges on them. now I unlock them and swing them open. I had to modify the jambs.

I considered replacing them and installing the barn door style, but decided against it, I figured they would get in the way too much.

I like the hinge idea, but it doesn't really solve the storage problem, which is the main issue I was trying to address.
