What's up with the new companionway locking system on the new H-36 is it OK for you. I am not crazy about it but I guess if its a pain its not hard to change to the old system.

Hi Nick... Is that the Mobella lock? Dark square lock built into the top hatchboard? It was OK for me...it was also OK for the sh*tbirds that broke into my boat last week. Nice neat look, works from inside the boat or outside with a key, but as with most hatch locks, will only keep out the honest people. Even a heavy duty hasp and mega Master lock will only do just so much....

You have to
mess with the slider while you're trying to get the key to throw the lock over...it's a little stiff when new, but you will get the hang of it. From inside, there's a little slide that you move to lock it, instead of using a key.

Warmer Weather
Soon it will be warming up and we can start getting ready for some great sailing. I did get it to lock with my frozen fingers and than on the ferry ride to LI. What a rocky ride on the ferry ride the ferry had ice all over the deck.
