New $350 companionway lid (hatch cover) from Hunter, of course, doesn't fit. The 2-1/4" dia.steel pegs provided at the forward yoke of the triangular lid do not align with existing holes in thickened Loran plastic deck around mast penetration. Looks like I will have to fill holes and redrill. What material do I use to refill existing holes? Where can I get it?

Do you mean Lexan (instead of Loran)? Lexan is a clear material that is used like plexiglass but is a lot stronger.
If it's white, it's probably gelcoat covering fiberglass and if so you can use white Marine Tex to fill the holes.
I'd think the alternative to fixing it yourself would be to return the hatch with the original to Hunter or make a template of the original pattern and dimensions so that they can lay out a hatch to match the boat.
