Companionway hatch removal because of water leak

I have a water leak (when it rains) on the port side of the hatch cover most near the bow. The carpet headlining gets wet and the seat cushion directly below gets soaked.Does anyone have this same leak and know where it comes from and/or how to stop it? Or is there a way to remove that sliding hatch cover and then check that area for leaks...Thanks

Not sure if the 222 is the same companionway slider design of the earlier OD'22, but if so, you need to drill out the teak bungs that cover the screws holding the teak slider in place. Then simply remove one side and the hatch will be able to be removed. You might want to take the side that leaks off, then rebed it using a polysulfide (like Life Calk).Hope this helps
