companionway cover

Just bought companionway cover for 260. I have to put snaps on it, but that"tool" they give you is pretty useless. Can anyone tell me how this is done..the right way? Thanks

Larry, Are You Referring To

a die and punch set? I have used those for years for repairs and my own projects. You have to use a really BIG hammer to squish the male part down on to the snap (ouch!) but even if you don't get it tight- it will stay put. WM has a set that clamp over channel locks. I have a set but they work no bettter, IMHO. Rick D.
