When my boat is closed up and the sun is beating down, I can't open the companion-way sliding window. I have to wait til I get some fresh air to cool things down. I'm not sure if the window arps from the heat, or the cabin expands. I think it is the cabin expanding. Anyone else have this problem?

This is a new one but.....

Jim: This is a new one but you may want to try washing down the boat with cold water and see if the hatch shrinks enough. Also make sure that the track (aluminum) is not warped. If the track was a little too long it could also be buckling from the heat causing the slide bind. This will be good to hear some feed back on this.

Sailkote in the tracks might help

I gave a friend who owns a powerboat Sailkote to use for his sliding hatches and doors. He swears by it, since it stops binding.

My 376 has the same problem and this also includes the washboards. I expect it is the result of machining these pieces of perspex using numerically controlled machinery which is extremely accurate. The old fashioned maxim of giving everything plenty of clearance on boats seems to have been overlooked.
