I recently purchased a 30 foot Hunter and would like to put a feature on board that was on my previous Catalina. The Catalina had a combination screen/canvas door that would snap into place on the inside of the companion way.You could then use it as a screen or if it rained you could simply zip up the canvas door for protection. When not in use you would simple roll up it up snap it into place out of the way.I don't believe it was standard issue for the Catalina, but I can't find a maker for it anywhere.Any ideas?

Simple wooden frame with a screen

I made a wood frame that fits in the hatchboard slot of our '77 h27, and mounted screen on it. We got a smokey plexiglass door with the boat. Both are stored in the same cloth envelope. We use the screen for hot weather, and the plexiglass for cold or rainey. That keeps the cabin just right atanchor, and at the dock in any weather. Both give pretty good privacy from passersby in a marina. David Lady Lillie

Companion way screen

We bought ours though Hunter, we had no problems, a fair price and we're very happy with it. We told them what we wanted and they gave it to us.

Standout Yacht Fittings

I bought some hatch screens from Standout Yacht Fittings a couple of years ago. I remember seeing something like you describe in the flyer that came with the screens. A quick Internet search came up with a phone number (800)622-1877, but no web-site. Maybe they can help.
