I was having problems with the rudder and engine during commissioning. There was tremendous stiffness in the steering and the engine would not start. The boat was not sailable. We are due to leave Tuesday on a very long delivery trip and were obviously very concerned. The two major problems were solved. What follows is a letter I sent to Greg Emerson on the subject.I am told that the engine starts fine now that the starter has been replaced.Dear Greg:The rudder repair has been effected. The results ,in my opinion are outstanding, and exceed all expectations significantly. The boat still has to be sea trialed this weekend, however, at the dock, there is almost NO friction and NO binding of the steering system( even with the auto pilot installed). I assume that the epoxy will keep it this way.Thank you so much for your help. Bravo to your dealer Angus and their crew.By the way, they are going way beyond the call of duty to ensure that we are ready to leave on time. They have said they will meet with us anytime to go over turn over issues. In fact, Al Patterson was with me last night until well past midnight to go over systems.Lastly, Al offered to send an Angus person along with us for the first part of our trip to supplement our limited sea trial/shakedown time and/or to provide an orientation to my crew prior to our departure. Thanks again Angus. Please forward this email to the appropriate individuals- they deserve the credit.Regards Warren Feldstein.
