Well, I did it. We came to terms just this morning on a 1992 Legend 43. I can still get out of the deal if there is anything that I don't like about it in view of the fact that I have never been in a Legend 43 and am only going on brochures and pictures and the boat itself is still in winter lay up. Please tell me what I should be looking for as to places where damage would normally appear. Of course, I will have it surveyed. I feel the actual price should be confidential but I would entertain any opinions of what I should have paid. Any way, "permission to come aboard".

Beautiful boat! Depends where you are, in Florida they run $50,000. less than in California!

Funny?

You want to know what everyone else paid for their boat but don't want to say what you paid for yours. Maybe someone who has bought a 43 would like to know what you paid, for the same reason you do. Alot of things go into the price of a boat. What shape it's in, where it is and what it has on it.

Rebuttal to Bill and George

I am hesitant to say what I paid because the deal is not yet sealed and I am a little skittish as I had a prior deal go sour after I discussed with someone the deal that I was involved in and when it was learned what I was offering, I was out bid without even knowing that I was in a bidding contest. I am not sure but what I may have been "used" as a "guide" to setting the price for a deal already made between friends. Anyway, as soon as documents are signed, I will be more than happy to reveal what I paid. Bill's reply struck me as a little sarcastic and I hope that this is a satisfactory explanation. Bill, or anyone else, if you are personally interested in the deal e-mail me at ARBCKB@aol.com with your return e-mail address and I will be more than happy to discuss it with you. Secrecy is not my object as much as it is security. George, the boat is in the Great Lakes.

Sorry about that

I didn't mean to offend anyone but myself don't ask someone what they paid for something. If I know the person really good then maybe we will talk about it but as a rule I don't.

Prices

Listings vary from 139K to 160K. Most buyers, of course low-ball asking prices usually by 10% and go from there. I am not a broker, so I am not speaking from experience. Difficult to say what the final selling price should be as it's based on condition, inventory, etc. Some surveyors will calculate a theoretical market value based on survey results. A good price is price you, the buyer, are happy with.

good boat

i think the h43 91,92,93 models were the best hunter ever produced, im planning on moving up from my 35.5 to that exact boat. if it has all the toys and in good shape $130 to $140 should be good, but you must also remember you might pay more for a boat on the great lakes area. find the same boat along the east coast, find out how much it would cost you to ship it,and do the math from there to see if you are getting a good deal. finally if the boat just feel right, smells right and fits you well its all right to pay a little more for the "perfict boat"

response to Warren

Warren, I expect to be operating out of Monroe, Michigan as long as I can find a slip and deep enough water

response to Bill

Bill: I wasn't trying to be intrusive or ask any individual what they paid for their boat. That is rather personal. What I wanted was some help in figuring out what would be a good price. George provided just the type of information that I was seeking. I certainly did not intend to pry or offend simply seek information. Thak you for your interest and taking the time to repond.
