Combo or 2 Units

I am considering buying the Uniden "Mystic VHF?GPS" 2 in one unit. Any comments as to the advantage of a combo unit over separate units. And if separate, what would be your choices as to makes and models?

Multi-use electronics

Bob,The only problem I can see with multi-use electronics is if it breaks and requires replacement or repair. If just repair, you are without VHF and GPS, if replacement, you are replacing both. I suppose it is possible that when it breaks both systems stop working at the same time, not the best scenario.I have all Raymarine navigation and two installed VHF radios, one Standard Horizon and one ICOM.Dan Jonas (S/V Feije II)
