Hello, I am still working on installing a m16 5166 uhiversal Kubota diesel into our Vega, MK 2. I am on a low budget . I want to remove the combi unit without damaging it to resell to someone who needs one. ANy body out there who is interested in buying it ? To remove it , any advice on steps involved. ? Also, I was going to machine mill a 7/8 bronze shaft at machine shop to slide in and fit to the exact spec ot the combi shaft , 25MM , we are removing. Can I reuse the packing gland stuffing box set up with grease fitting there , if I get a 25 MM diameter shaft to replace old combi shaft? Or , must I replace packing gland and cutlass? If so , what source and size for them, and where to source them most affordably? ANy further advice on mounting that engine , and prop size? THanks so much. I will probably have to sell the boat to raise funds after this. It is # 2144. It is sitting on a strong 2 axle updated trailer for long distance transport and launching with third whell. Or, we can sell without trailer and loan it out for the delivery where ever. THe boat has a harken furler, 3 sails, all good, near new interior velour cushions, and has a new 12 v dc panel being installed, along with the strong running FWC diesel.
