I'll be hauling my Vega out tomorrow to install a zinc anode on the old combi prop. What's the best way to stop the shaft fro turning when I both loosen and re-tighten the prop bolt.I'm afraid of twisting the shaft.Bob FuchsSilentiumVega 2296

Hi ManningI ordered the zinc anode from Albin Motors in Sweden. http://www.albinmotor.com/shop/cata...vbfk4eh6dd2dnqj0grs2540&x=-108&y=-200
It's custom made to fit a combi. Stefen and Albin Motor and Fashion was easy to deal with, and I had the part in about two weeks. I ordered 4 so I'll have a stock for a while.
What I ended up doing was to use a pipe wrench to hold the hub while I loosened and re-tightened the the prop nut with a 24mm socket. Easy install.Tracking down an oil filter to fit the oil filter conversion was much tougher. I was told the oil filter conversion used a Renault 5 filter. I understand these cars were big sellers in Europe, but they never caught on in North America. I think they we're sold by AMC at the time. The first two parts places I went to didn't even know that Renault is a car manufacture, and nothing showed on their computers. The third one knew all about them, and helped me match the filter. Funny how third time really is the charm.

Okay, I am working like a dog here. Who wants to take over so I can go play?
