Does anyone have information on a Combi 1000 Autohelm? Was given to me without any instructions or details. Thanks Dave s/v WindSong

Probably an antique

I still have the guts of one installed. I use an autohelm. (Need to pull that old one out and gain space and lose weight....one of these days.)

bought my first one in 1984 -- it changed my sailing life... no more hand steering, shock cord setups, etc. Since I sailed a light 23' Aquarius sloop with a crew madeup of of my 3 sons age 15, 10, and 7 - it was a godsend. Unfortunately the first one lasted 1 1/2 years and then froze up. The factory repair would cost $250 and a new one cost $359. I threw out number one and purchased number two. This unit steered my boat for 11 seasons. When I got a new boat, I sold the old unit for $50.00 - it is still at work. Good luck with detailed info.
